In the digital age, the supervision and maintenance of intellectual property rights is not easy,
and publishing organizations often face great difficulties in dealing with the diversity of content.
For example, if a book has been published in paper form, e-book,
and electronic magazines at the same time, it is difficult to comprehensively track and manage the content, and the establishment of copyright is rather vague.
The characteristics of DOI will strengthen your management of intellectual property rights.

Flexible assigning rules with no conversion costs
According to the IDF’s regulations, the DOI suffix can be compiled by the publishing organization in combination with the existing ISSN and the self-compiled ISBN.
The high compatibility makes your conversion cost and adaptation cost close to zero, and the administrative process of publishing can be worry free.

The persistently effective DOI link creates lasting value of the publication
The changeable attribute of the DOI link allows the DOI link to be modified once the object storage URL is changed.
The publishing organization can provide the most comprehensive link maintenance of the intellectual property to ensure readers' trust in the publishing organization.

Broad granularity to master reading trends
A granularity refers to the smallest hierarchical unit of registration. A journal, e-book, or even a chapter, chart, and gene fragment,
can all be the basic unit of the DOI registration, allowing you to accurately understand the reader's reading interests and trends through DOI’s download and page view calculations.
DOI can sustain the collection and circulation of academic value.

Intellectual property rights statement
The DOI is subject to the application of the owner of the intellectual property right,
and the registration is the extension of the property rights.
The publishing organization can declare the ownership of the intellectual property so that the reader can correctly identify the publications and publishing organizations.

The effective evaluation basis for academic influence
In the past, once the URL was changed, the visiting record shall be recalculated. However, once the DOI is issued, it shall remain unchanged.
All citations and visits can be recorded in detail, making it an effective basis for evaluating academic influence and academic achievement.

Accelerating the promotion of publications
The convenience and ubiquity of the link allows the knowledge content to be shared easily. The link can direct readers to the most

The publishing industry’s resource sharing and linking
The DOI is coordinated by the International DOI Foundation (IDF).
It can promote the establishment of an intensive information exchange network for registrants of different regions and different natures,
to eliminate the difficulty of seeking knowledge dissemination channels, and effectively enhance the international exposure and citation of articles.

The DOI assigning rules
Each DOI code consists of two parts, a prefix and a suffix, separated by a slash (/).
According to the Airiti’s DOI policy
specifications, the allowable characters are: "a-z", "A-Z", "0-9" and "-._;()/",
which cannot be terminated with a half-width
period ".".
A DOI is not case sensitive. We will help design a coding that is structural, logically consistent, and easy to implement.
For example:

Assigning according to the publication year - volume - issue - page numbers of the article:10.5870/2003.3(6)112

Assigning according to the journal code - the publication year - sequence number:10.5870/cjp.2010.0001

Using an existing number, like ISSN:10.5870/j.1013-9656
